E:vent was founded in November 2003 by Colm Lally, with the help of Matt Spenser and Brian Reed. For the first three years E:vent occupied a basement space at 96 Teesdale Street before moving to the groud floor in 2006.

The project was incorporated in 2005 and registered as Event Media Projects, a limited company without a share capital. A board of trustees was established and the group began the task of building a sustainable business.

E:vent is an active member of Arts in Action, a community project that aims to create an holistic environment for artists working in a broad spectrum of media through provision of studio spaces and living spaces for them and their families.
