Statistical Harp & Other Machines
Opening 16 April 7 – 10pm,
Coti K & Dimitris Charitos
Statistical Harp & Other Machines is a sound installation by Coti K & Dimitris Charitos. It presents a statistical system that transforms data obtained by the sequencing of a literary text into sound, through carefully positioned speaker nodes distributed around the gallery. The resulting soundscape is constantly modified by the presence of audience members in the space.
Coti K works as a record producer, musician and sound engineer in settings including solo record releases, film, theatre, dance, TV & installations. He has
collaborated with many artists including Tuxedomoon, Blaine Reininger, Ilios and others. A member of free music improvisation club 2-13, he has played live electronics with many musicians including Evan Parker, Phil Durrant, Nikos Veliotis, Rhodri Davies, Andrea Neumann, Mark Wastell, Matt Davis and others.
Dimitrios Charitos is a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies of the University of Athens. His artistic work involves electronic music, audiovisual, non-interactive or interactive, site-specific installations and virtual environments.
[This event is part of ATH-LDN. Hellenic Sonic Airlines welcomes you on board ATH-LDN, a sonic voyage showcasing some of the most innovative musicians, sound artists, producers, performers & DJs working in Greece today.]
