MUSIC AND MONTAGE

VJ: CHRIS ALLEN, THE LIGHT SURGEONS
From the mid to late nineties on, The Light Surgeons have helped to define VJ culture in the UK. By fusing together video image, stills, music and sound they have evolved a process of live storytelling, which entertains, inspires and provokes its audiences into thinking about our social and political environment.

LIVE CINEMA: DJRABBI
Known throughout the international electronica underground as an asynchronous transmitter of an open source scripture that overwrites conventional approaches to everyday life, DJ Rabbi is launching its talmudic reinterpretations in the form of live cinema performances.

MUSIC: KLAUS JANEK
Janek performs a concert of recent works based on a wide and modern interpretation of minimal music. The sound is composed by organising a small quantity of repetitive audio material, (ref) Ph. Glas, S. Reich, G. Ligeti. This interpretation also makes reference to John Cage’s understanding of urban and generic ‘noise’ as musical expression, creating sound landscapes that invite the audience to engage, and providing stimolo to their imagination.

VJ & MUSIC: ALEXANDER PETERHAENSEL
As an offspring of the so called MTV-generation Peterhaensel regards the intertwining of sound and image as his natural language. Having played in various formations from electroacousticly improvising media art ensembles to post rock outfits, from electronic pop bands to the installment of abstract sound architectures Peterhaensel is constantly traveling along the border between sound and semantics.
